i spent this past sunday up at cedar point with my ZETA gals in order to raise money for our sorority. basically your organization gets a group of people together who then go to the park and either work in the food service industry or with the hotel cleaning staff for a day.
each person earns under minimum wage and then all the money is donated to your group when the work day is over. soooo cedar point gets super cheap labor whenever a group comes and that group then gets a decent chunk of money in a very short amount of time: win-win.
our group was placed in the hotel, which meant that for the first half of the day we helped people clean rooms (making beds, vacuuming, folding towels, etc.) and then the second half of the day we were all room strippers (stripping the room of all dirty sheets, dirty towels, and trash in a record amount of time).
it was a hectic and insane day of work, but i loved every minute with those ladies! well, except for when we’d find a towel filled with vomit in a room that had recently been devastated by a crazy party ..that was always pretty gross.
but anyway! all the craziness definitely helped to bond us all as a group even more, and for that i am thankful. these ladies are now a huge part of my heidelberg family, and i love ’em all!!
